Firearm policy

Licensed firearms may be carried in the hold, subject to declaration and approval before travel.

Before you travel

  • Declare the firearm when booking and at least 48 hours before departure.
  • Carriage is subject to our approval and to the law in every place on your itinerary.
  • Bring the original valid firearm licence or permit in the traveller's own name.

At check-in

  • Present the firearm unloaded, with the action open, for inspection by security staff.
  • Complete the declaration form at the counter.
  • The firearm must be packed in a locked, rigid case and travels only in the hold — never in the cabin.
  • Ammunition is packed separately from the firearm, in its original manufacturer's packaging.

Limits and refusals

  • Ammunition allowances are limited by weight and are subject to security approval.
  • Explosives, detonators, flares, replica or realistic imitation firearms and stun devices are not carried at all.
  • We will decline carriage where documents are incomplete, packing is unsuitable, or the authorities do not approve the movement. Refused items are handed to the police at the airport.
