Travel info

Expectant mothers

Flying while pregnant is usually straightforward. Here is what we ask for, and when.

When you can fly

  • Up to and including week 27, you may travel with no additional paperwork.
  • From week 28 to week 35, please carry a medical certificate dated within seven days of travel, confirming your due date and that you are fit to fly.
  • From week 36 (or week 32 for a multiple pregnancy), we are not able to accept you for travel.
  • After giving birth, we ask that you allow seven days before flying, and that a newborn is at least seven days old.

If your pregnancy has complications

Where there are complications, or your doctor has advised caution, we will need medical clearance before travel. Let us know at the time of booking so there is time to arrange it.

On board

  • Ask for an aisle seat so you can move around easily.
  • Keep the seatbelt low, across your hips and under the bump.
  • Drink water regularly and stretch your legs and ankles during the flight.
  • Tell the cabin crew if you feel unwell at any point.
